Try an apartment having cross ventilation.. it at least should be open in front and back both.. Always prefer sun facing apartment or at least three-sided open with one side being open on the east..

Nail a horseshoe over the door. Make sure it's hanging right side up (shaped like the letter U) to "hold the luck" instead of upside down, where the luck would "spill out".

Get some bamboo plants. They're considered lucky.

Carry your bride over the threshold the first time you enter the house. (I don't think you need to be newlyweds for this one.)

Have a fireplace? Buy a lucky cricket to keep on the hearth.

i believe whatever is happening in our lives is our decision. there's no harm in following feng shui either, but in our culture, the first ones to go inside the house is the master of the house or the ones who earns more, likewise you should bring in first the salt and rice (uncooked) and eat something sticky with the family (so as the family sticks together). but of course don't forget love and harmony among each member of the family. in our country, we move to a new home on a full moon – so much better if it falls on the 8th or the 18th or 28th of the month because the number 8 brings good luck. before you move in, be sure that the rice container is full, and salt container too. during the house blessing with a priest blessing it with holy water, open up all doors and windows, say the appropriate prayer, light candles and shower all parts of the house with shiny coins. serve rounded fruits and food and wine should be overflowing on the table.

of course you pay up the house or mortgages on time. family members should be loving and harmonious with one another, otherwise, no amount of ritual can save a family that is dysfunctional in the first place and not even trying to make positive life changes.
