Moving tips, ideas, and motivation?

2-1/2 weeks until we close on our new house… and I am sitting here on Yahoo answers. Help! My garage is a wreck… my basement is a wreck… and I only have 23 "easy" boxes packed (pictures, nick nacks, kitchen stuff I don't use very much…) I need a direction! Some motivation, if nothing else. Time is ticking away, way too fast! I have plenty of boxes and plenty of tape, although I am pregnant, so I'm a little limited with lifting over 25 lbs… Does anyone have tips, tricks, or moral support??

I **** moving as well. Look into PODS. They deliver a big storage unit to your house and you can fill it up over those two weeks. Then when your move comes PODS comes out and delivers the unit to your new home and you can take your time unpacking as well.

We hired someone to help us pack – we gathered all the boxes and each day I would give her a list of the cupboards & closets I wanted packed. I went thru first & threw away alot of stuff.
Make a list of what you will tackle first – schedule yourself for 2 hours in the garage – after you have seen some progress you will want to continue.
Unfortunately, you will have to go thru your stuff and determine what to keep & what to throw away. Maybe invite a girlfriend or sister over to help you pack – that way you can chit chat the day away.

i am also closing on my new home in two and a half weeks. scary isnt it. well my suggestion would be two hours a day, make a trash pile and pack stuff as you go. and focus on one area a day, dont get side tracked if it takes more than one "day" to do something so be it. i will seem overwhelming now, but hang in there, and honestly it will be done.
