I'm moving soon. Any tips on how to move a 25 gallon tank?

My parents just bought a new house and I have to move my 25 gallon fish tank. I don't have any live plants in it. (Although I do have a live plant in my brother's betta tank)

Any tips/suggestions on how I should properly move it?

Luckily the new house is 2 minutes away so its not that long of a drive…

i have a 125 litre tank, which is a little bigger than yours
and i would say what you need to do is bag up all of your fish in bags containing your tank water
empty the water from your tank ( if you can keep some water in, then this would help)
if you can you really should get a container such as a bucket or something to put some of your tank water in, this is because when you refill your tank will suffer from having 100% new water in!

dont wash out your filter, as the bacteria in there will be needed when you set your tank back up
your fish should be fine with the move as it is only a 2 minute drive
but keeping some of the origional water would really help when resetting up the tank
good luck

two suggestions: 1. you could dump half the water and leave the fish in the tank and using two people to move the tank, but it might stress them out a little bit. 2. or you could get some baggies to put ur fish in, dump the whole tank and get it set up in your new place. your fish can stay in the baggie for one hour, but don't forget to float them on top, and this may cause less stress on them. but no more then 1 hour or you could loose your fish ! and i don't want that to happen !!!!! but you need to decide what you want to do ! they are your fish not mine ! good luck !
