if you want your furniture to match..go to the local furniture store and tell them to hook you up..if $$ is a issue then go to RAC or Aaron's and get a nice set and built your credit at the same time most couches, end tables, and even washers and dryers are only $40/mth.. if that sounds like too much of a commitment go to the local garage sales and find whatever you want for almost nothing..just inspect them for anything like holes..you never want to end up with a nest of rats. Since you are owning your own home make sure you include living expense..utilities..water, sewer, garbage..upkeep..such as lawn work and learn the laws of the town..like shoveling snow..deicing your walkway so your mailman don't sue you..,learn about your taxes on your house.. how much are they a year..is the furnace, roof and sewer in good shape..those are your most expensive things to maintain

Start out with second hand furniture, but buy all new appliances. It's very hard to tell what you will like when your first moveing out. I ended up replacing 1/2 the furniture I baught in the first 5 years.

Basics you will need:
- Dishes, silverware, pans, toaster, microwave, coffeepot, stove and refrigerator if the house dosen't come with them
- Bed, night stand, Chest of draws
kitchen table and chairs.
- Television, Chair and sofa or futon

Don't forget a can opener, egg turner, silverware, dishes, pots and pans, dish towels.Toiletries for bathroom.Unless you know your style of decorating or furniture you completely love go with good clean used and take your time to furnish your new home.A place to eat,sit and sleep will be necessary.Go with the new light bulbs, pricey but last much longer.Wait until you move in for most things because then you will have a better idea of the style, you might like.
