We have friends who are giving it to us free, but is the dead of winter in Utah, and we want it moved in one piece! also, it is not wired in any more, so there is no way to plug it in to thaw the ice. Thanks!!

wait till the water thaws and drain it otherwise you may damage it trying to move it while it has water in it

You cant move it filled or with ice, as it will damage.

To melt the ice start a campfire, bbq near the cooler. Get a whole bunch of ice salt.

Heat up kettles of water and poor them into the centre. this will cause the ice to melt in the middle, and protect the liner from hot/cold fatigue.

As the ice melts, the water will settle to the bottom, and the ice will float. After a while start to poor the hot water in other areas to turn it into swiss cheese. It will then be easier to break up and lift out in pieces

Keep adding the salt to the top and inside the ice holes to stop it from refreezing.

The tub may have already suffered damage due to freezing. The seals on the pump and the plumbing may have cracked. Do expect some repairs when you finally get it moved.

It will take some time to get it thawed. You could try adding some salt or deicer to help with the thaw. Using a garden hose to help thaw will also help, but be sure to get the excess water out or else that will freeze too.

Good luck with it.

I helped a friend move one..It was decent weather tho..I wouldn't try to move it unless it is empty..You don't mention location but it must be outdoors if it is frozen..Very carefully try to remove some of the drainage system on a sunny day..If it is filled with ice..the plumbing may be damaged already. Good Luck!!
